Widdifield Secondary School
We will host a realistic multi-vehicle mock crash. The messages will focus on all the issues – do not drive impaired, all occupants in a vehicle must wear a seat belt, do not speed, no street racing, and the dangers of driving distracted. The drama class will write the script. Once the crash takes place, a 911 call activates the emergency response teams (police, fire, ambulance, coroner, and a parent arrival at the scene).
Our injury prevention initiative is a buckle up challenge where teams race to buckle up fastest. Following the event, we will host a driver competency assessment workshop delivered by the Road Safety Educators Association so students can return to their schools and train other teens.
