Northern Secondary School
Our message – Be Aware, Drive Sober – will start with a pre-survey to understand the current knowledge level of students in our school. The results will inform our focus during our teen driver safety campaign and provide a comparison for post-intervention surveys. We will hold a school-wide assembly on drunk driving performing an original skit. Other activities include displays, posters, announcements, and curriculum connections. During our busiest week, we’ll hold an information fair for parents night, a resource fair during lunch for students (including public health, police, the Canadian Automobile Association, and local driving schools), a bake sale, facilitated discussions, and a video game competition where with each level, an element of distraction is added.
