We chose to focus on anti-drinking and driving. Our slogan was, “Just say KNOW: KNOW the risks, KNOW the consequences, KNOW the law.” Our project was centered on our homecoming week because we felt that dances are a time when students feel heightened pressure to drink. At the Winter Dance of 2006, eight students were suspended due to alcohol consumption. At Prom 2007, five students were suspended because of alcohol consumption with more than 125 turned away due to possession of alcohol. At our homecoming dance of 2007, there were no suspensions or alcohol-related incidents as a result of the campaign.
