"Alert Today, Alive Tomorrow"

“Alert Today, Alive Tomorrow” concentrated on the four areas of seat-belt usage, speeding, impaired driving, and distracted driving. Our kick-off was Ignition Week where different activities engaged the student body. Next, we organized convocations, implemented a school-wide reading campaign, staged a mock car accident, set up a booth at a local festival, held a community candlelight ceremony and published Shifting Gears, a book full of driving stories written by students and community members. As an outreach to neighboring corporations we held a Project Ignition Convention to encourage them to start a campaign in their schools. Results revealed a positive impact upon students and community.
