Superheroes are invincible- you aren't!
This Canadian Project Ignition/ SmartRisk youth group aimed to make a difference and have a tremendous impact on their peers by developing highly interactive and memorable activities. These included simulations with the use of impaired vision goggles, an open bar at lunch for "mocktails," and a distracted driving simulation involving texting. Algonquin's three hour mock car crash was exceptionally detailed and included EMTs, the before and after of the tragedy, and testimonials for a truly unforgettable activity. All events helped students talk about the blatant problems that exist, while creating unique, but very necessary opportunities for positive dialogue about driving safely.
