"Project TTYL: (Talk/Text to ya later!) So You Can Arrive Alive!"
Freedom High School S.A.D.D. wants to make sure that you arrive home safely so your family and friends can talk to you later--alive and well. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, "distracted driving led to 5,474 highway deaths and 448,000 accidents last year." Through partnerships with hospital representatives, businesses, members of the local police department, and other speakers sharing their personal stories, students will engage in cross-curricular and extra-curricular projects and hands-on activities in order to build community and raise awareness among students about the dangers of texting while driving.
